Charging money. Sort of.

So far, I have published parts 1, 2, and 3 of my Summoned series on Smashwords for free.   In order to publish on other sites, however, I have to charge something.  For now, I'm going to try listing parts 1-4 together on Smashwords for $.99, which will get it distributed to sites like Barnes & Noble and Apple, among others.  Once I have parts 1-6 edited, I'll be posting all of them to Amazon for $2.99, which is the minimum amount that's worth doing on Amazon.

For those of you who have been reading Summoned for free on Smashwords, I'll be posting part 4 separately, also for free, a week or so after putting 1-4 up for $.99.  You won't need to pay for it unless you just can't wait.

The Summoned Series

Now that I have the site up (to some degree) and have published part 3 of Summoned, I guess it's time to put some actual information here.

I started writing the Summoned series as a fun project exploring some aspects of the "isekai" genre that I haven't seen addressed in any other works, such as the gender swap, language barriers, and the general confusion that would result from bringing people into a fantasy world.  That doesn't mean that those things haven't been done before, just that I've never seen them.  It's a big genre, dating back at least to 1889 and Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court

The first-person, limited POV allows the reader to explore the world of Geamhlurt along with the narrator, and lets me use a more informal language and tone than I usually would in a work of fiction.  That makes it fun to write and (hopefully) fun and easy to read, but editing is still a pain, and the only thing that really slows…

Under Construction

Between writing, editing, and work, I haven't had much time to set this site up the way I want.  Even so, I will keep it updated with info about publishing schedules and other news, even if it's not particularly attractive.
